i've been having a tough time deciding on which pram or stroller or the combination of both to buy for my liL One. N i keep going back n fourth on my decision. haha!! >.<
On one hand, i feel like following or trying out the culture here by using a Pram/ Combi and bringing baby out for walks at the park while she sleeps in. Fyi, ppl here in Denmark often leave/bring their babies outdoors to nap all year round (as long as the temperature is above -10degrees). swt. My bro was like... "what did the baby do wrong?? kena punish like that... " hahahahha!! Anyways... using a pram has a real classic look to it (depending on which pram u choose ofcourse) so its kinda cool to be able to use one.. heh!! But then again... i am always complaining about how cold the weather here is and i almost never (or very seldom) leave the hse.... so what are the odds of me bringing baby out for walks? HAHAHAH!! ;P
On the other hand, i need to think of the practicality of me using it back home (when i go back for hols). It is NOT our culture to use prams in Malaysia. Ppl dun generally bring their baby out for walks (since the air is super polluted)... and if they do... it will be in a shopping mall where u'd wan sumthing smaller and narrower for easy manoeuvring. Plus we travel by car all the time... so we need sumthing that is easily collapsible and can be put in and out of a car in a quickie!! Shirlyn once advised me that when choosing a stroller... u must always imagine urself in a situation where u are alone n there is no one around to help u. So, u'll wan sumthing that u can fold with jes one hand while carrying ur baby in the other.
In the beginning... i told KimHooi that he cud decide on the car seat & stroller. N so he did... he wanted to get the Stokke Trailz (DKK 10,488). It is a combi where u can use it with a carrycot and then switching to a seat when the time comes.
After reading thru reviews online... while i do think that it IS a very good stroller for living in Denmark... i dint think it wud be very convenient to be used in Malaysia or for travelling purposes. This is because it can be quite bulky when folded, not to mention heavy. N u havto use both hands to remove the carrycot or seat, fold it and keep it in two(s). It is also pretty wide compared to wat i came across next.
Stokke Scoot V2 (DKK 4,499). This is a stroller that can be used from birth with a sleeping bag (DKK 459) for colder weather conditions (as shown below) up till the age of 3.
I was all for it as it has the adjustable bar and rubber wheels that KH likes while also satisfying my condition of being able to fold with jes one hand. Furthermore, u can use it from birth and also with our Stokke BeSafe car seat. N since we live in an apartment on the 2nd. floor, it is easier to carry it up and down the stairs as well. (Will probably have to go 3 trips with Trailz but since i cant leave baby alone in the house... it is clearly impossible to do actually. -.-)
Then, i recently learned of the Swedish brand Emmaljunga.
1) Mondial de Luxe (Paris) with de Luxe Chrome/Leatherette frame -79cm (DKK 8,999)
2) Mondial (Pepita Navy) with Classic Chrome/Leatherette frame -79cm (DKK 7,999)
3) Big Star Supreme (Black/Navy) with Big Star Supreme frame -97cm (DKK 7,499)
Emmaljunga is used by many in Denmark. They hav 7 different chassis & many colours u can actually choose from. But the 3 shown above are the ones i like. Wudn't u wanna use a pram too?? Haha!!
While browsing instagram one day, I also came across the prettiest pram i've ever seen. A true beauty fit for a prince or princess. *emoticon with HeArt eyes* lol. <3 Its the Inglesina Classica pram made in Italy. Aint it gorgeous?
Unfortunately, one of the reviews i read said that it is totally impractical to have. Jes a non-functional pretty thing for u to keep at home n take photoshoots with, if u like (n if ur rich). Haha! But still.... so PRETTTYYYYY!!! :/
In the end... KH said that we shud get the Stokke Scoot V2 (which i agree)... N if i wan a pram... we can get a second hand Emmaljunga jes to test it out for our first born and see how much use we get out of it n if we like it. Then maybe we can get a brand new one for our second child? Lol.
